Mis failid ja kaustad on Garmin naviseadmetes?

Uuemad nuvi seadmed 1xxx, 2xxx ja 37xx seeria omavad peidetud süsteemikausta .System. Tähtsaimad failid asuvad selles kaustas. Selleks, et neid faile näha, on vaja nähtavaks teha varjatud ja süsteemifailid.

Ext - Ext Data folder - sisaldab 006-D0952-01.bin, 006-D0952-02.bin, 006-D0952-03.bin, 006-D0952-04.bin, 006-D0952-05.bin, 006-D0952-06.bin, 006-D0952-07.bin, 006-D0952-08.bin, 006-D0952-09.bin, 006-D0952-10.bin faile, mis sisaldavad fonte sellistele keeltele nagu Heebrea, Tai, Araabia, Vietnami.

ExtData - mõnedes seadmetes on siia salvestatud MTK chipset failid, ARC.BIN, BEE.BIN, 006-D1221-00.bin. 006-D1221-00.bin + GPS Chipset Type M HotFix Data tarkvara, mida uuendatakse webupdater tarkvara kaudu. Samuti ARC.BIN & BEE.BIN failid, mis sisaldavad infot GPS tarkvara kohta.

Garmin - sisaldab GarminDevice.xml *:Webupdater, Garmin Express, Mapsource, Mapinstall, Garmin Mapupdater jne. Programmid loevad seda faili, et tuvastada Garmini mudel, firmware versioon, seadme ID number ja failid, mis seadmele vajalikud on. See fail genereeritakse igal täisbuudil (käivitamisel), kui oled lisanud uusi faile või uuendanud seadet. See kajastub failis revisioni numbri ja osa numbriga. Seda faili võib nimetada ka nuvi seadme registriks.

* GarminDevice.xml - sisaldab nuvi seadme kohta käivat informatsiooni, mida loetakse ja salvestatakse sinna. Firmware alati ainult kirjutab sellesse faili ja kunagi ei loe seda.

* GarminOs.log - Logi, mis sisaldab seadme väljalülitamise kuupäeva/kellaaja infot.

GPX - Sisaldab reisilogisid

Current.gpx = fail genereeritakse iga kord, kui seadme USB-ga ühendad. Sisaldab värskeimaid laetud teekondi ja teekonnapunkte (lemmikuid). Failis on järgmine info: :
1. Kõik teekonnapunktid (lemmikud), mida oled salvestanud
2. Sinu värskeim teekond (joon, mis näitab, kus sa käinud oled)
3. Kõik loodud ja salvestatud teekonnad
4. Viimane USB ühendus
5. Kodu aadress.

Temp.gpx = sisaldab kõiki teekondi ja teekonnapunkte. Seda faili saab avada otse seadmest Mapsource programmiga. GPX faile saab avada ka Google Earth programmiga.

Help - Sisaldab erinevates keeltes abifaile

Keyboards - Sisaldab klaviatuurifaile erinevatele teeltele ( .kbd failid)

JPEG või Pictures - Sisaldab nuvi vaikimisi faile ja ekraanitõmmiseid. Sinna võib jpg faile ka ise lisada

Logs - Sisaldab logimisega seotud faile

searches.txt - Otsingud (POI)

MP3 - Sisaldab mp3 muusikafaile

POI - Sisaldab personaalseid POI faile või reisijuhifaile. Eellaetud kiiruskaamerate faile Cyclops.gpi, Truck down.gpi ,SCDB.gpi. Kõik need failid omavad laiendit .gpi. Neid faile võib kustutada, kui neid enam vaja ei ole.

PNX - Sisaldab .png faile, kodeeritud .pnx formaati (skinnidega seotud?). Redigeerida saab neid PNX-Convert programmiga

Scrn - Sisaldab ekraanitõmmiseid. Salvestatud failid on .bmp formaadis ja redigeerida saab nt Windows Paint või mõnes muus pilditöötlusprogrammis.

Text folder - Sisaldab vaikimisi ja kohandatud teateid ning klaviatuuri seadeid. Need on tekstifailid laiendiga .GTT:

Themes - Sisaldab .kmtf laiendiga faile. Tavalised tekstifailid. Saab luua ka omale meelepärase faili, nt muutes järvede värvi, parkide, ostukeskuste ja teiste alade värve.

Vehicle - Sisaldab seadme kaardil kuvatavate sõidukite ikoone. Failidel on .SRF laiend. Faile saab ise juurde kopeerida ja ka kustutada. Alla saab laadida ka siit: Sõidukite ikoonid

Video - Sisaldab video faile. 3xxx & 2xxx seeria seadmed toetavad: .avi, .mp4 (H.264 video codec), AAC audio codec (48000 Hz, 16 bit), resolutsiooniga kuni 720x480. .asf (WMV1, WMV2, WMV3 video codec), MSAudio1, MSAudio2, MSAudio3 audio codec (48000 Hz, 16 bit), resolutsiooniga kuni 720x480. .wmv (WMV video codec), wma audio codec, resolutsiooniga kuni 720x480

Voice - Sisaldab hääljuhiste faile. Failid on laiendiga .VPM. Mittevajalikke faile võib kustutada, kuid ole ettevaatlik. Failid nagu nt Afrikaans_.vmp on tavahääled, mis ei häälda tänavanimesid. Failid nagu Nederlands_Claire.vmp on TTS (text-to-speach) hääled, mis hääldavad ka tänavanimesid

nuvi_drive.ico - ikoon, mis on nähtav, kui oled nuvi ühendanud arvutiga, siis seadme juures see ikoon

autorun.inf - fail on vajalik näitamaks sinist Garmini kolmnurka (logo) arvutis

.System kaust - Peidetud süsteemikaust, mis sisaldab .IMG faile, *.unl, *.gma ja järgmisi kaustu ja faile:
Reports - kaust sisaldab mileage.csv , fail mis sisaldab reiside infot, nagu maksumus jne. ecoRoute funktsiooni osana sisaldab see infot: Date (MM-DD-YYYY), Start Time, Origin Longitude, Origin Latitude, Destination Longitude, Destination Latitude, Origin,Destination, Distance (km), Time (min), Fuel Economy (l/100km), Fuel Cost (EUR), Carbon Footprint (kg).
Scores.bin fail sisaldab kiirenduste, pidurduste kombineeritud infot, et optimeerida sõidustiili ja säästa kütust.

ASR - Sisaldab "SRX+ASR"/Voice recognition faile (Automatic Speech Recognition)

BTM - Sisaldab telefoniraamatu infot ja .wav faili, mida mängitakse, kui telefon heliseb.

Diag - Sisaldab debug infot, Event log kausta ,Shutdowns kausta, html kausta\ supported_features.html

EULA - Sisaldab erinevaid litsentse. (traffic, Navteq, nuRoute)

FCD- Sisaldab FCD: (Floating Car Data), constantly evaluates information about the traffic situation and sends a control center, data are automatically analyzed and sent to TMC-compatible devices.

G2S - Sisaldab G2S & .db :NüRoute technology & trafficTrends.

GPS - Folder stores ARC.BIN , BEE.BIN etc files used by webupdater.It contains also rxn folder.Inside eph,poly and seed folders, probably Ephemeris prediction related.

JCV - Folder stores Junction View files (JCV Name Length limit :max 11 characters ) on models which support such a feature. The JCV files of some Asian map products are firmware dependent. They only work on GPS devices sold in the corresponding country with localized firmware. See: Garmin Asian JCV Tool v1.0

RemoteSW - Files stored in RemoteSW folder are the microcodes for appropriate chipset installed in your nuvi. Firmware upgrade checks at start if the version is to flash < version on disk - then upgrade it. It is an upgradeable code. (GCD, BIN & SUM) The first.GCD is the original firmware. The other file is the new firmware that the unit has installed- It contains also Touch Panel Software(006B121100.GCD: This file is for Touch Panel Software in 37xx series). Firmware for GTM receiver is in RemoteSW too. Nuvi creates an info entry about it in file \Garmin\GarminDevice.xml.

RoadSideAssist - Folder stores infos about RoadSideAssist services (AA) and images for 'Where Am I' function.

SQLite - Folder stores .db files : Traffic trends, ecoRoute,myTrends and some user's strings.('quick_search_list.db' and 'recent_searches.db' for example:addresses, post codes). user_strings.db (Destinations entered.) RecentStops.db (Recent stops made by the user, last parking spot) To read these files you can use a SQLite client .

Deleting the 'quick_search_list.db' file will clear the Quick Search items from POI category searches
Deleting the 'recent_searches.db' file will delete the pre-populated items from the Instasearch bar

SID - Files are stored in 34xx and newer .System/ SID and are traffic trends ,instaSearch , instaAdresses and POIs and FastRouting related. In 2014 nuvi Advanced Series (25x9 26x9 27x9 2589 2559 2579 2599 2689 2789, and in nuvis 58, 57, 67, 68) FoursquareInstasearch has been added.

Trips- This folder is for trip planner files.You can back up this folder, for example Current.trip (All files in this folder will be deleted when you do an hard reset.)

fs_image.ver -Technical file.You can see in inventory ftl image version stored in this file.

gmapbmap.img - Garmin base map (worldwide map) cannot deselect it.

gmapbmap.sum -check-sum file, mapupdate related, can be deleted.

gmapoem.img -Additional map for specific branded units such as Honda and BMW,it doesn't show up in the map inventory, cannot deselect it.

gmapprom.img - Garmin detailed map (preloaded). Back up this file before deleting or overwriting it.

gmapprom1.img -Another Garmin pre-programmed (preloaded) map. Back up this file before deleting or overwriting it.

gmapprom.sum -check-sum file, mapupdate related, can be deleted

FoursquareMap.img -in 2014 nuvi Advanced Series (25x9 26x9 27x9 2589 2559 2579 2599 2689 2789, and in nuvis 58, 57, 67, 68) added this new map in the directory .System/Map/Foursquare.img

gmapsupp.img - This is the common file name for Garmin supplementary maps.

gmappupdate.img - This is the file name Garmin Express gives to .img when a map must be sent to mircoSD because of lack of space in internal memory, along gmappupdate.gma and gmappupdate.unl. A gmappupdate.gsd is created in Garmin folder too.

*.unl - Unlock code files for Garmin maps.

gmaptz.img - Garmin time zone map.Contains Timezones of different cities/countries for selecting the right timezone by the device based on the location.

gmaptz.sum -check-sum file, mapupdate related, can be deleted.

gmapdem.img - Garmin DEM (digital elevation model) It displays contours on compatible devices.

gmap3d.img - Garmin 3D buildings map.

gmap3d1.img - 2nd Garmin 3D buildings map.

GUPDATE.GCD - Used for Garmin firmware update.

GtmData.xml - It stores infos about Traffic receiver: ID and last connection date.

GtmData.tmp - Last connection to the network to get traffic updates.

Locales.xml - It stores default language, currency sign, time zone, etc settings for different countries.

*.Gma -Garmin new protection digital certificate. Only the legitimate buyer of a Garmin map product license will receive the GMA file connected to his/her GPS unit. That's implemented for maps with mapid >= 2200.

TrafficProvider.xml - It stores infos about your traffic providers subscriptions (Nuvi 1xxx and 37xx series etc.)

sw.unl - unlock code file for phones Garmin MobileXT application

Garmin Folder- in root in outdoor devices contains:

Activity - Folder contains Garmin Activity Logs (*.fit)

Adventures -Folder contains Garmin Adventures Database (*.adv)

Birdseye -Folder stores Garmin maps made by using BirdsEye Satellite Imagery in .jnx format.

Custom maps -Folder stores custom maps made eg. with Google Earth in .kmz format.

Custom Symbols -Folder stores waypoints symbols you can create and add in your outdoor gps.

DCIM- Folder system for storing photos taken with the Montana camera (650/650t only) inside:1000GRMN/ DSCxxxxx.jpg= Photos taken with the gps camera (*.jpg)

Filters folder - Folder contains geocache data.

GPX-Folder stores:
Chirp.gpx = Most recent information received from a Garmin chirp beacon.
Current.gpx = Current track recording (*.gpx)
Garmin DEMO gpx = Pre-loaded maps and waypoints from Garmin (*.gpx)
Coordinates.gpx = Recent "Where To?" Navigation Destination
Position.gpx = Device position at time of last power down
Saved.gpx = Contains Area Calculation track data
temp.gpx | Waypoints sent to the device from MapSource or BaseCamp
Track_{date}.gpx = Tracks saved by user . File name will include track creation date
Waypoints_{date}.gpx = Waypoints created on the GPSr . File name will include waypoint creation date

Geocache - Folder Contains filters used when searching geocaches (*.gff)

GeocachePhotos - Folder system containing geocache specific spoiler photos (*.jpg)

GGZ- Folder contains geocache.ggz, All (*.ggz) files are stored in this directory and sub-directories

JPEG- Folder stores photos and images (*.jpg)

Profiles -Folder stores profiles and profiles settings in outdoor gps. You can choose different ones.
among automotive ,classic, marine etc each one with different settings: selected maps to be shown in choosen profile etc.

Shortcuts - Folder stores files generated in Montana,Oregon 6XX series etc. when you create a new shortcut in your home page (example:Stop Navigation.gsf,Go Home.gsf etc.)

SQL - Folder contains SQL/DB-file "Trail Database" for outdoor devices activities.
It displays special routes or information depending on the activity chosen by the user, differentiating between pedestrian activity cycling activity, hiking etc : Active Routing feature in new Garmin Topo maps PRO.

Garmintriangletm.ico - it's the icon will appear on myComputer when you'll attach your outdoor gps.

Startup.txt - Edit this file to display a message while your unit is powering on.

Adventure_Logs.xml - User logged Adventure ratings.

*.sum - Checksum files left by updater: can be deleted.

Some files and folders in outdoor devices are the same as in automotive gps devices, like POI, Scr, Text, Vehicle, Help, GPS etc.

Kausta GPX alamkaustas Archive on 20 gpx faili, kujul xxx.gpx, kus xxx on järjest kasvav number. Teekonnapunktide lisandumisel kirjutatakse vanemad failid üle.

Nüüd küsimus: kas on võimalik kuidagi seada, et säilitatakse näiteks 50 viimast faili?

Tundub, et see ei olegi võimalik, vähemalt Garmin toe jutu järgi.

Question: What is a trip log and how does it work on a nuvi or zumo device?

Answer:
Trip logs are points automatically stored when the GPS device is locked onto a satellite signal and moving. It is the electronic equivalent of laying down a "breadcrumb trail" to mark the path that has been traveled.

Your nuvi or zumo can store 10,000 points before it begins the process of archiving additional logs.* Beyond 10,000 points the device moves the oldest trip data into an internal archive file. Up to 20 archive files can be stored internally on the unit. This means, depending on space available, that the device can store over 200,000 points of trip data.

Note: Archived trip log information is not visible on the device itself, but can be used and seen with Garmin’s MapSource product. You can open individual archives to view in MapSource by following the steps below:
Open the Garmin device drive located in My Computer. [Note: If using a Mac, the Garmin drive will be located on the Desktop.]
Open the Garmin folder.
Open the GPX folder.
Open the Archive folder.

Korraks käis peast läbi üks mõte, aga vaevalt, et see tulemuseni viib. Nimelt GarminDevice.xml faili on seadme kohta palju infot määratud. Kuid firmware kirjutab sellesse faili ega loe seda. Kui nüüd muuta seal olevaid parameetreid, nt et salvestaks ühte faili mitte kuni 10000 punkti, vaid nt 30000 punkti ja siis looks uue .gpx faili. Proovinud pole, lihtsalt oletus. Aga usun, et see ongi vaid selline uitmõte ja pigem ikka riistvaraliselt see maht piiratud.
